to Four Directions Yoga Studio. Take time to centre,
ground, breathe.
Our style of yoga is based on the work of Vanda
Scaravelli. Breaking away from restrictive yoga teaching
styles, Vanda and her students developed a style that is
reflective and honours the student’s own experience.
Students are encouraged to practice postures and
breathing practices without straining, but with
interest, reflection, patience. We apply the principles
of releasing, breathing, and grounding to move into the
postures with ease and mindfulness.
Come from your practice feeling refreshed and centered.
Students are encouraged to reflect on their own
experiences and find the postures, breathing practices
that assist their bodies in releasing tension, and
focusing their minds. Students who are fit can feel
challenged, while students who are working with
injuries, fatigue, or illnesses can feel supported and
encouraged.
We offer two styles of yoga. Hatha yoga classes involve
yoga postures and stretches as well as breathing
practices and meditation. An emphasis is placed on the
student’s experience and needs. We currently have 2
Kundalini yoga classes which involve energy work and
breathing practice as well.
Students can start classes at any time, and take classes
throughout the week as fits their personal schedules.
Classes can be paid for at a drop in rate, through a
punch card system, as unlimited classes and workshops.
We offer retreats, workshops, classes, as well as
teacher training and enrichment for those interested in
deepening their practice.
