Yoga Classes
Our style of yoga is based on the work of Vanda Scaravelli. Breaking away from restrictive yoga teaching styles, Vanda and her students developed a style that is reflective and honors the student's own experience. Students are encouraged to practice postures and breathing exercises without straining, but with interest, reflection, and patience. We apply the principles of releasing, breathing, and grounding to move into the postures with ease and mindfulness.


Come from your practice feeling refreshed and centered. Students are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences and find the postures, breathing practices that assist their bodies in releasing tension, and focusing their minds. Students who are fit can feel challenged, while students who are working with injuries, fatigue, or illnesses can feel supported and encouraged.

2 Styles of Yoga:  We offer instruction in 2 styles of yoga. Hatha yoga classes involve yoga postures as well as breathing practices and meditation. An emphasis is placed on the student's experience and needs. We currently have Kundalini yoga classes, which involve energy work and breathing practice as well.

At Four Directions Yoga, students can start classes at any time, and take classes throughout the week as fits their personal schedules. Yoga classes can be paid for at a drop in rate, through a punch card system, as unlimited classes and workshops. Additionally, we offer retreats, workshops, classes, as well as teacher training and enrichment for those interested in deepening their practice.

 • Monday 5:15 p.m.–6:45 p.m. Kundalini Yoga
 • Monday 7:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. Hatha Yoga

 • Wednesday 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Hatha Yoga 
   and Meditation

 • Saturday 8:30 a.m.–10:00 a.m. Hatha Yoga
 • Saturday 10:15 a.m.–11:45 a.m. Hatha Yoga

 

One Earth Sangha:

Sangha meetings are free and are open to everyone. We follow the tradition of Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Our meetings begin with a moment of reflection, we listen to some of Thay's readings followed by sitting meditation, have dharma sharing, and tea.

  Time: 4 - 6pm,

  Dates of Sangha: 2012: January 22, February 12, February 26, March 4, March 25

  Cost: no cost. Bring a mug for tea!

Workshops:

Kundalini Yoga for Chakra Balancing:  January 29th:  Time:  2 - 4:30pm  Fee:  $35.  The chakra energy system is the sublte energy system of the body.  Kundalini Yoga can bring awareness of this energetic system as well as balance and flow.  Enjoy traditional Kundalini yoga food and yogi tea after this workshop.
