Our hatha yoga practice is inspired by mindfulness meditation in the Zen tradition as well as the work of Vanda Scaravelli. Breaking away from restrictive yoga teaching styles, Vanda and her students developed a style that is reflective and honors the student's own experience. Students are encouraged to practice postures and breathing exercises without straining, but with interest, reflection, and patience. We apply the principles of releasing, breathing, and grounding to move into the postures with ease and mindfulness. Our yoga classes can allow you to move mindfully into postures through present moment awareness of your body and breath. Practice at your own level to find your center and empowerment.
Kundalini yoga is a dynamic and grounding practice based on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. This inspiring and uplifting practice can help students meet life's stresses with interest, energy, and joy. The postures, breathing practices and mantras of Kundalini yoga can help students work through anxiety, depression, and chronic fatigue.
We offer hatha yoga teacher training - Level 1 and Level 2. The Level 1 course provides you with 335 hours of professional teacher training instruction. Our curriculum includes: deepening and enriching your own practice; teaching skills and methodology; instruction in how to teach yoga postures; effective ways to communicate the principles of your own experience of yoga; hands on assisting; lesson and curriculum planning; anatomy; alignment; philosophy and ethics. Level 1 is for people who are new to teaching yoga and new to this method of yoga. Our Level 2 course is over 200 hours in total. Level 2 is designed for graduates from Level 1 who wish to further their own studies in a specialized way.
In addition to classes and teacher training, we offer workshops as well as retreats and Sangha meditation meetings. Please check the Schedule page for details.
Owner-instructor Paola di Paolo enjoys teaching yoga as well as meditation. Paola has been practicing yoga since 1983 and teaching since 1990. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance, RYT-500. She was initially trained in Iyengar yoga with an emphasis on alignment. In 1992 she met Esther Myers and began studying with her. Esther Myers was trained by Vanda Scaravelli and encouraged her students to be aware of their own experiences in the postures, and to trust their own explorations in yoga. In 2000 Paola also began to practice Kundalini Yoga and was certified by the Kundalini Research Institute as a teacher in 2003. Kundalini yoga brings energy and awareness of the chakra system. Since childhood, Paola has had an interest in meditation, particularly Zen meditation. The simplicity of Zen meditation allows us to connect to our present moment experiences with openess and awareness. Paola has applied the practice of Zen meditation to hatha yoga. Her approach is mindful and inspires insight and self awareness.

Mondays: 7 - 8:30pm Hatha Yoga - this is a beginner level practice including stretching, yoga postures, breathing practices and mindfulness meditation
Wednesdays: 7 - 9pm - Hatha Yoga and Meditation: In this class we focus on meditation as well as hatha yoga postures and breathing practices.
Saturdays: 8:30 - 10:15am - Hatha Yoga: We start with mindfulness meditation, practice hatha yoga postures, breathing practices.

Sangha Meditation: Dates for Sangha Meetings: November 3, December 1, December 22: Enjoy sitting meditation in a group that is open and supportive. Enjoy discussion, tea. Sangha meetings are free. Time: 4 - 6pm
Sadhana - Our next Sadhana practies are: Saturday October 26th and Saturday November 23rd, Saturday December 21 - 5am - 7am - this early morning practice is uplifting and also strengthening. We practice in the tradition of Kundalni Yoga and Yogi Bhajan. Share tea afterwards and greet your day. Please Note: The Saturday December 21st Sadhana is a special day: It is the Winter Solstice!
Sitting Mindfulness Meditation Workshop: Location: 55 Farms Rd, Woodville Friday November 1: 6:30 - 9:30pm. Come home to yourself through sitting meditation. We will practice sitting meditation for intervals of 40 - 50 minutes and then practice gentle yoga stretches for 10 minutes. Some students feel they are not ready for meditation, or will only be ready when their minds are quiet. Well, everyone experiences 'monkey mind' in meditation practice. Start with how you are and where you are. Come home to yourself, and experience the compassion that comes with simple sitting and following your breath.
